Cilerdzic, Andrej, Bishop of the Serbian Orthodox Eparchy of Austria and Switzerland
Andrej Ćilerdžić is bishop of Austria-Switzerland-Italy and since 2017 has functioned as administrator of the diocese of Frankfurt and in Germany as that of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
In 1986, he graduated from the Faculty of Theology of the Serbian Orthodox Church and in December 1986 he was ordained a monk in Decani Monastery, Serbia. In 1987 he was ordained a deacon in the St. Sava Church in Dusseldorf and in November 1990 he was ordained a priest, also in St. Sava, Dusseldorf.
Since 2008 he has conducted research at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich within the framework of a doctoral project on models of ecclesial unity in the 21st century. In the beginning of 2010, Athanasios Vletsis of the Chair of Systematic Theology appointed him a research assistant.
In September 2011, he was consecrated Auxiliary Bishop of Remesiana in Belgrade and from 2011 to 2014 he served as the head of the Serbian Patriarch Irinej’s Cabinet in the Patriarchate of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
