András Nagy

András Nagy is a writer, essayist, scientific advisor to the Institute of Advanced Studies Kőszeg, worked as professor of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Pannonia, and is a member of the Doctoral School of Literary Studies at Eötvös Loránd University. He has taught at several universities in Hungary and abroad, worked as an editor, dramaturg and literary director. Previously, he was elected president of the Hungarian Centre of the International Theatre Institute, then he was the director of the Hungarian Theatre Museum and Institute, later he directed the Kőszeg Campus of the University of Pannonia. He has published several books and studies in both Hungarian and foreign languages, on literary, philosophical and historical issues. His field of research has recently been the interdisciplinary analysis of a turning point of the Cold War in Central European history, with special regard to the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 and the international responses to it. In addition to his scientific activities, his novels, short stories and plays have been published and staged, and several of his scripts have been made into films.
