The fourth day of the 7th UNESCO MOST Winter School delved into the intricate relationship between globalization, law, and cultural narratives, focusing on how legal frameworks adapt to a rapidly changing world. The morning panel, “Globalization and New International Legal Frameworks,” brought together experts such as Damir Banović (University of Sarajevo), Csaba Győry (ELTE, Hungary), Áron Fábián, and Márton Matyasovszky-Németh (iASK, Hungary). They explored the evolving role of international law in addressing cultural rights, generational rights, and global challenges like climate change and migration. The discussion emphasized the need for legal systems to balance cultural diversity with universal human rights standards.

In the afternoon, participants immersed themselves in Kőszeg’s rich cultural heritage through a guided walking tour led by historian Mónika Mátay and musician Zoltán Mizsei. The tour highlighted the town’s historical landmarks and 20th-century transformations, illustrating how cultural narratives shape local identity and global dialogue. The day concluded with a public lecture by Áron Fábián and Márton Matyasovszky-Németh, “Shaping the Future: Political and Legal Culture in East-Central Europe,” which examined the region’s legal traditions and their impact on contemporary governance and European integration. The evening featured a wine-tasting event with organic wines from UNGER, offering a taste of local culinary heritage alongside informal discussions on law and governance.
