Tibor Navracsics (EU-commissioner of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport): Cultural heritage is a bridge from the past to the future. The most important thing is the intercommunications among local, regional and national cultures. The European Year of Culture Heritage 2018 is our chance to rekindle a sense of belonging to our shared European space and open up opportunities for people from all backgrounds to experience what it feels like to be European. The Year allows us to delve into our traditions, the memories and monuments of our past.
