The Sustainable Development in Hungary & Austria study visit was organized by the Robert Schuman Institute, with the Institute of Advanced Studies Kőszeg (iASK) serving as an active professional partner. The program aimed to provide participants with first-hand insights into good practices related to sustainable development, local innovation, and cross-border cooperation.

The study visit also created a valuable platform for professional dialogue and networking among participants from Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, and Hungary, fostering the exchange of experiences and perspectives on regional development challenges and opportunities.

During the professional day hosted in Kőszeg, iASK presented its activities related to sustainable regional development and showcased the achievements of the KRAFT (Creative City – Sustainable Region) programme. The presentations highlighted a range of topics, including the economic development efforts of Szombathely, innovation initiatives led by the Pannon Business Network, and the role of young people in strengthening regional and cross-border cooperation.

Participants also visited the Municipality of Kőszeg, where they gained insight into the town’s long-term vision and sustainability objectives. The programme concluded with a guided walking tour through Kőszeg’s historic town centre, offering participants an opportunity to discover the city’s rich cultural heritage and unique architectural character.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all speakers, professional partners, and contributors whose expertise, commitment, and active participation played a key role in the success of the programme.
The partnerships and professional connections established during the study visit provide a strong foundation for future cooperation. iASK remains committed to supporting international knowledge exchange and collaborative initiatives that contribute to sustainable regional development and strengthen cross-border networks across Central and South-Eastern Europe.
