Simon Attila

Dr. Attila Simon is the CEO of Herendi Porcelánmanufaktúra Zrt., a lawyer and European law specialist, Honorary Citizen and Associate Professor of the University of Veszprém, Pannon University. Since September 2005 he has been the CEO of Herendi Porcelánmanufaktúra Zrt., where he has been working since 1994. Key to his thinking are successful, profitable and efficient operations, financial stability, a balance between social and economic unity and strategic thinking. In addition to this, he places emphasis on the exercise of his cultural mission, which has resulted in hundreds of cultural Herendi porcelain exhibitions in Hungary and abroad in recent years. In addition to a results-oriented approach and social mission, a third element of its strategy is solidarity. In its view, solidarity must be shown with the world, with the country where we live and work, and with local communities.

Under the leadership of Herendi Porcelain Manufactory Zrt. in 2011, it became the only company in Hungary to become a member of the French Comite Colbert Luxury Industry Association, in 2020 it won the Family Friendly Workplace title, in 2013 Herendi porcelain became a Hungaricum, and the successful company-building work of the past decades is confirmed by the fact that the Budapest Stock Exchange listed the company it leads among the 50 most successful Hungarian companies in 2019. During his tenure, Herendi Porcelain Manufactory has become the world’s leading porcelain manufactory ahead of its competitors, and if we look at its profitable operations, the number of export markets (60 countries) and the number of employees (650), we can confidently say that it has. During his time as CEO, Herendi Porcelain Manufactory Ltd. has been profitable every year.

In February 2020, he was featured on the cover of the Hungarian FORBES Magazine, and in 2022 he was the subject of a longer article in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

He is a lecturer (Corporate Governance) at the University of Pannon, Faculty of Economics (Veszprém), Széchenyi István University, Faculty of Economics (Győr) and Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Science (Győr).

Dr. Attila Simon is a member of the Hungarian Design Council, a member of the Presidium of the Veszprém County Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a member of the Social Council of the Deák Ferenc Faculty of Law and Political Science (Győr), a member of the Presidium of the Hungarian Trademark Association, a member of the Supervisory Board of the Budapest Strings Foundation (Budapest).

In addition to his numerous social functions, he is a member of the Advisory Board of the Institute of Advanced Studies (iASK) (Kőszeg) since October 2022.

Dr. Attila Simon is a holder of the Hungarian Gold Cross of Merit, Honorary Citizen of the University of Pannon (Veszprém), Honorary Associate Professor and Pro Facultate Award of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Pannon (Veszprém), and Pro Facultate Award of the Széchenyi István University, Ferenc Deák Faculty of Law and Political Science, Győr.
