Title of the presentation: From Idea to Impact: The Ethical Use of AI in Generating Research Ideas

Abstract: Generative artificial intelligence has become a powerful partner in the earliest, most creative stage of research: generating, sharpening, and stress-testing ideas. This 90-minute, hands-on workshop—part of a lecture series following the entire research process from problem formulation to publication—focuses on using AI for idea generation both effectively and ethically. Participants will learn the eight elements of a good prompt, apply the draft–critique–refine–verify iteration cycle to their own research ideas, and discuss disclosure obligations. One principle runs through the workshop: AI may be a sparring partner, but the idea, the judgment, and the responsibility remain human.
