In memory of György Cziffra – Improvised Compositions by Károly Binder

György Cziffra was a brilliant improviser, dazzling audiences with his improvisations from an early age. He was well versed in jazz music. He was a pianist of universal talent who eventually achieved his greatest success as a classical performer.

Károly Binder has also been improvising since he was a child, and his style is completely unique in the world of music. He often uses the piano as an exotic percussion instrument in his preparations. His compositions and pieces, with their individual tones that cross stylistic boundaries, require a high level of pianistic skill.

Like György Cziffra, he has also spent a lot of time in Jazz Music with classical music, folk music, and improvisational high cultures. He, however, focused on creating his own musical world.
His concert is a real curiosity, where you can hear Bartók’s arrangements alongside his own compositions.
