18 economics and business management students and their team leader from Zheijang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages (ZUYFL), in Shaoxing, China visited iASK in the first week of May. Their trip was preceded by a visit of a delegation headed by the ZUYFL vice rector in the fall of 2018.

The students had the opportunity to experience the practice of local cultural heritage management as senior history research fellow Mónika Mátay talked them through examples in Kőszeg and the full reconstruction of a Roman temple dedicated to the goddess Isis in nearby city of Szombathely. They heard lectures on regional implications of global challenges, on East-West issues in the form of value chains crossing Central Europe and East Asia, on doing business in Central Europe and on global trends from a Central-European perspective. They were also introduced to the study programs of the University of Pannonia, including the International Studies MA program at the Kőszeg campus and had joint session with other international students.

Zheijang Yuexiu University was established in 1981 in the 3,000 year old Shaoxing. It operates on two campuses with approximately 16,500 full-time students with a 1,000 strong faculty and staff who come from 33 countries. The university hosts eleven schools and colleges.

iASK, the University of Pannonia and ZYUFL, Shaoxing are expected to sign a three-party cooperation agreement in the near future as the next step in their expanding cooperation.
