Andrej Smid, Dipl.-Ing. Arch., PhD student at the University of Technology Graz, Austria (Technische Universität Graz, Österreich), Doctoral School of Architecture, Guest Lecturer at the Maribor University, Faculty for civil engineering and freelance architect in Maribor.
As a guest lecturer at the University of Maribor, he was holding the lectures “Form development in architecture and urbanism” in 2010-11, “Introduction to architecture” in 2011-12 and 2012-13, “Basics of urbanism” in 2011-12 and 2012-13, was assisting prof. dr. Grigor Doytchinov in “Studio II” seminar in 2012-13 and in 2013-2014 and assisting doc. Uroš Lobnik in “The space of the city” seminar in 2013-14.
His job as Deputy Director at Komunaprojekt d.d. (2005-2013) included job acquisition, negotiations, project management in urban planning and architecture, staff management, public relations and reporting to the board of directors.
His publications include Bye bye 20th century; similarities in the urban development of ex Yugoslav cities (2012), The border city and its urban development; Maribor / Osijek / Subotica (2014), The edge of Maribor through the prism of the edges of comparable exYugoslav cities (2014).
