Dr. Ágnes Kóspál is an astrophysicist. She worked for six years in the Netherlands at Leiden Observatory and at the European Space Agency. Since 2014 she works at the Research Center for Astronomy and Earth Sciences of the Hungarian Acedemy of Sciences, where she leads a research group funded by a 1.3 million euro grant from the European Research Council. She uses the largest ground-based and space telescopes to study how Sun-like stars and their exoplanetary systems are forming. For her results published in more than 50 scientific papers, she won the Junior Prima prize, the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science National Fellowship, and this year in Paris she also received the L’Oréal-UNESCO International Rising Talents Award. She is member of the Public Body of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Women in Research Academic Committee, the Hungarian Astronomical Association, and the International Astronomical Union.
