The COVID-19 pandemic has posed risks to peoples’ lives and livelihoods on a global scale. Inequality has become more salient than ever during the pandemic. At the same time, the world is confronted by long-term ecological problems that can no longer be ignored.

UNU-EHS works on different pathways to reduce risks and vulnerability and to improve social protection while tackling the fundamental root cause of the global challenges from the perspectives of well-being, sustainability and equity.
