Pannon House of Arts and Literature

Culture & Heritage

Fostering Interdisciplinary Collaboration at iASK

Step into a world where art, music, literature, and academia converge at the Pannon House of Art and Literature, a dynamic branch of iASK (Institute of Advanced Studies Kőszeg). Serving as a vibrant hub for artists, writers, musicians, scientists, and professionals in the social sciences and humanities, this unique center fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and creativity. Within its walls, innovative projects emerge, breaking boundaries and exploring the rich tapestry of cultural heritage.

The Pannon House of Art and Literature acts as a catalyst for collaboration, bringing together individuals from diverse disciplines to engage in dialogue and shared exploration. Here, artists find inspiration in the depths of literature, musicians harmonize with visual artists, and scientists merge their expertise with creative expression. It is within this interdisciplinary space that new perspectives and innovative approaches to research and cultural preservation are born.

The Agota Kristof Research Group at the Institute of Advanced Studies Kőszeg (iASK) has made significant strides in its exploration of Agota Kristof’s legacy over the past year. Ágnes Kovács, Judit Prileszky-Simon, and István Sümegi, the core members of the group, have been diligently working on various studies that delve into Kristof’s writings and impact. Their work was showcased in a comprehensive presentation at Bibó Hall, capturing the attention of both in-person and online colleagues. A highlight of their endeavors includes Judit Prileszky-Simon’s research trip to Switzerland to examine Kristof’s extensive bequest at the Schweitzerische Nationalbibliothek, revealing a treasure trove of manuscripts, personal documents, and correspondence, much of which remains to be fully explored. This group’s dedication to uncovering and digitizing these precious materials not only honors Kristof’s memory but also enriches our understanding of her work and life.

At iASK, the boundaries between natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, arts, and literature merge allowing for a holistic and comprehensive understanding of cultural heritage. Through cutting-edge research, thought-provoking discussions, and immersive artistic experiences, the Pannon House of Art and Literature strives to uncover the hidden connections between seemingly disparate fields. By embracing the power of interdisciplinary collaboration, iASK and its Pannon House celebrate the fusion of knowledge, creativity, and cultural expression.
