Jewish Heritage

Culture & Heritage

At iASK, we are committed to preserving Jewish cultural heritage in Koszeg, Hungary, and actively engage in research and initiatives focused on Jewish heritage. Our dedicated Jewish Heritage Research Group plays a crucial role in documenting, studying, and raising awareness about the rich Jewish history and traditions in Koszeg.

As part of our efforts, iASK has undertaken the renovation of a significant historic synagogue located in the center of Koszeg. This magnificent synagogue, built by Philip Schey in the 19th century, stands as a testament to the vibrant Jewish community that once thrived in the region. Through careful restoration and preservation, we aim to honor the memory of the past and create a space that allows visitors to connect with the Jewish heritage of Kőszeg.
