Györgyi Földes

Györgyi Földes (b. 1970) is a literary historian and critic, a senior research fellow at the Institute of Literary Studies at ELTE, and has been the editor-in-chief of the Helikon Journal of Literary and Cultural Studies since 2016. She received her PhD from ELTE in 2002. Between 2000 and 2004, she was a lecturer and then an assistant professor in the French Department at Eszterházy Károly College in Eger. She also taught as an external lecturer in the Department of Hungarian Literary Studies at Pannon University in Veszprém. Since 2005, she has been employed at the Department of Modern Hungarian Literature at the Institute of Literary Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Hungarian Academy of Sciences (currently: ELTE), where she is now a senior research fellow. Her research areas include the Hungarian avant-garde, literary theory, gender studies, and representations of the body, Agota Kristof’s Oeuvre; she is the author of five books on these topics.
