Zoltán Birkner is the former director and associate professor of the University of Pannonia Nagykanizsa Campus. His work also covers his research fields, namely the theory and practice of innovation management. Since 1998 he has contributed to the foundation and development of the Nagykanizsa Campus. He initiated the establishment of a notable water technology research centre (Soós Ernő Water Technology Research and Development Center Nagykanizsa). In recognition of his practical achievements, he received the Harsányi János Prize in 2013.
