The internet is an integral part of our world today, and social media has grown exponentially. This phenomenon offers a unique opportunity to study health-related community with patients, doctors, health care providers, pharmaceutical companies, and journalists. Communication flows are analyzed to pattern a “connectivity map”. The research aims to reveal how patients build communities via Twitter, thereby exploring an evolutionary developmental model of users that provides affective and cognitive support.
