Rubin Zemon Ph.D. is an ethnologist or social-cultural anthropologist, director of the Center for Advanced Research, born in Struga, North Macedonia, on October 25, 1970. He defended his PhD from the Ethnographic Institute with a Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Sofia, Republic of Bulgaria, in 2005. He was a research associate at the Institute for Social and Humanistic Research “Euro-Balkan” in Skopje, a university professor at the University “St. Apostle Paul ”in Ohrid. In 2016 he was appointed director of the Institute for Social and Humanistic Research at the Euro-Balkan University in Skopje.
The Council of Europe, as well as the OSCE / ODIHR have repeatedly hired him as an expert / consultant on various missions, projects and issues related to national minorities and multiculturalism, in various European countries, especially in the countries of South-Eastern Europe.
Since 2013, he has initiated and successfully organized every year as the Chairman of the Program Committee of the annual International Conference on Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Media, which traditionally holds in Ohrid during the Epiphany celebrations, attended by about 100 scientists and professionals from around the World.
In 2018, he was appoint as Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia for the development of multicultural society, interculturalism and intercultural communications. From that position, he initiated and initially led the preparation of the government’s National Strategy for Development of the Concept of One Society and Interculturalism, which is in fact the first such state strategy for interculturalism in Europe.
